Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School is proud to announce Jacob Riccuiti, Class of 2027, has been recognized by the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) and InnerView in the eighth Annual Community Service Impact Awards. The Kroger Co. is presenting the annual Zero Hero Awards to students for taking action to help create communities free of hunger and waste.
Jacob has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service through a wide range of volunteer and leadership activities. Through the JCC’s Teens as Leaders program, he began supporting LimbKind and participated in the organization’s Tuesday Night Live initiative, where he helped prepare and distribute sandwiches for individuals in need. Through that experience, he began volunteering with a New York City soup kitchen. Jacob additionally helps organize the JCC’s “Fall Back to Camp” program, which brings campers together for a fall event designed to strengthen and maintain the friendships and connections formed during the summer.
At Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School, he is an active participant in the Best Buddies Club. Additionally, his volunteer work includes organizing and promoting community fundraisers benefiting Blood Cancer United, the Howie Levy 5K and the Run for Becca 5k. Jacob’s work as a lifeguard further reflects his dedication to helping others in his community.
The Community Service Impact Awards program connects student service to real-world outcomes, skill development, and community needs. This year, Jacob was part of a nationwide effort of high school changemakers who collectively invested more than 2.3 million hours of service, equivalent to $78 million in community impact, addressing critical local and global challenges. He has earned the Ambassador Level award in recognition of 100+ hours of service during the school year, along with special recognition for efforts addressing Zero Hunger and Zero Waste.
