Battle of the Classes Brings Back-to-Back Victory for Class of 2027
On April 17, students at Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School participated in the annual Battle of the Classes, where they transformed the building and gym into a display of teamwork and school spirit.
This year’s event featured a Star Wars theme, which was highlighted by a surprise appearance from members of the 501st Legion Empire City Garrison. Students spent weeks preparing for the event by decorating hallways and competing in challenges leading up to the main competition. The Class of 2027 earned first place for the second consecutive year and is already aiming for a three-peat next year.
The POBJFKHS Student Government expanded the event this year by providing t-shirts for each grade and adding hallway decorating and pre-event competitions to the schedule of activities. For the first time, teachers and staff also participated alongside students.
A special thank you to Mrs. Bullock, Student Government adviser; Mr. Pallotta, Media Club adviser; Mr. Lyons and the custodial team; and all participating teachers for helping make the event a success.
