POBJFKHS Student Earns 2026 Students Building Bridges Award

Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School junior Emily Novak was selected as a recipient of the 2026 Students Building Bridges Award, a highly competitive honor presented through the Jewish Community Relations Council of Long Island and the New York State Senate. The award recognizes outstanding students who work to build ties across communities, volunteer and promote inclusion.

Kennedy High School’s Class of 2026 were recognized at the Senior Academic Awards Ceremony for their outstanding academic achievement across a wide range of disciplines, including art, technology, business, family and consumer sciences, mathematics and computer science, music, health, physical education, science, research and world languages.

Members of the Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School Class of 2026 were honored at this year’s scholarship ceremony, where they received more than 60 awards and scholarships presented by community organizations, including the PTA, Senior Citizens Club, State Senator Steven Rhoads, Stacy’s Warriors and several scholarships created in memory of community members.

Congratulations to Tiffany Weng, winner, and Hriti Sanghvi, runner-up, of the inaugural 2026 Attitude Student Design Scholarship and “Attitude Is Everything” T-Shirt Design Contest, which challenged students to create original artwork inspired by the power of positive attitude, resilience and personal growth.

Six POBJFKHS Students Earn National Merit Recognition

Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School is proud to celebrate six students who earned recognition through the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program. Soha Jhaveri, Alex Lee, Claire Sim and Dylan Stal were named National Merit Scholarship Finalists, while Ethan Torres was selected as a National Merit Scholarship winner and Matthew Fitzgerald received the National Merit Marsh Scholarship.
